Professional Journey

Founder & Startup consultant

07.2020 - 06.2021

Back when I was working in the startup ecosystem, I've noticed many good startup cases were rejected because they were not "validated" or lacked a convincing business case. I decided to work on Creidea to help teams with innovative business ideas validate a market need, create a business case and go-to-market strategy and prepare for fundraising (pitch decks & financials). You can learn more about why I started Creidea in this article from Happy Monday. Here's what I did:

  • Validated market needs through desktop and user research (interviews & surveys)

  • Coached startups on the lean startup methodology to develop prototypes, MVPs and pilots

  • Developed initial branding, business cases, go-to-market strategies, pitch decks and fundraising documents for Creidea and startup clients

  • Built a platform with educational content on how to build a startup and raise funds

  • Built a couple of websites (including this one) on Wix

  • Managed marketing & communication through online presence (SEO & social media content on LinkedIn and Instagram), community building and partnerships

  • Organized & handled startup events & workshops

Currently, the platform doesn't exist anymore, but its content can be found here

Swiss Startup Factory

Head of Venture Building

07.2019 - 06.2020

After working as a startup analyst at BV4 (see below), I wanted not only to assess startups but also to build them. That's why, after talking to the founders of the Swiss Startup Group, I transferred from BV4 to the Swiss Startup Factory. Here, I was responsible for the management of the Venture Building department (team, framework, cases and budget) and the development of the venture building cases. In parallel, I kept working on corporate innovation consulting with previous clients from BV4.

  • Managed the Venture building department: in this context, I have built a team of venture builders, analysts and entrepreneurs with whom we have built a venture building framework. I was also responsible for managing the case pipeline, selecting the best cases to build and managing the budget

  • Developed the venture building cases: over 3-4 months, I worked with entrepreneurs, freelancers and other team members to create business cases, validate market needs, build MVPs, pilots and go-to-market strategies in a lean startup methodology

  • Executed corporate innovation projects: I've managed client innovation projects in the areas of growth opportunity assessment, intrapreneurship, corporate acceleration and customer experiences. I've also handled design thinking, ideation and bootcamp workshops

  • Supported the CEO in business development: I closely collaborated with the CEO to build SSUF's strategy, client pipeline and to organize events with the ecosystem

I also closely collaborated with the Swiss Startup Factory on corporate innovation projects.

  • Scouted, rated, analyzed and performed valuations and Due Diligence of startups

  • Developed a framework for and managed scouting mandates with corporate clients

  • Accelerated corporate innovation projects (including business case creation, prototyping, testing and pitch deck development)

  • Organized and managed design-thinking and intrapreneurship bootcamps with corporates (up to 100 participants)

  • Consulted startups on business development, growth and pitch decks

  • Created new processes, projects and frameworks

  • Trained and managed interns

  • Acted as project manager at the Center for Corporate Venturing Switzerland, an initiative launched by the Swiss Startup Group.  Here I helped to develop and market the offer and events. You can check one of the articles I wrote on Corporate Venturing here
